Mosaic sculpture titled, "When Poppies Played" is a one-of-a kind sculpture created for the Egg Harbor Public Arts Initiative in Door County, Wisconsin. The sculpture takes the shape of an egg and is supported by a custom metal stand. Poppies, Daisies, and Queen Anne's Lace run wild through a field of flowers. Thousands of individually cut and shaped pieces of glass tesserae and hand-sculpted glass letters wrap around a sun-lit field of flowers while three-dimensional butterflies float through the field. Four lines of poetic verse begin the story of everlasting love from a poem written by George A. Johnson. This item is SOLD but a customized project like this can be commissioned.
